CNC Turner Team Lead

NI Precision is growing precision engineering business based in Lisburn and Portadown with a portfolio of work that reaches all over the UK and Ireland.

This role will initially start at our Lisburn site and relocating to Portadown in a few months time.

We now have an exciting opportunity for experienced CNC Turning Team Leader to join us and lead the turning function within the business.

As a CNC Turning Team Leader you will strive for quality and craftsmanship through the efficient running of our CNC Lathes, Turn Mills and Bar feeders, ensuring quality standards are maintained and leading the team in a positive manner to build and grow our turning expertise.

You will be responsible for setting up and proving out the CNC lathes, loading and unloading bars, creating programs for new components and leading a turning operators.

The ideal candidate will have experience setting and operating and programming CNC lathes along with use of basic hand tools and have an eye for detail whilst adopting and promoting good health and safety standards on the factory floor.

They must be proficient in time keeping, work well under pressure and have the ability to work effectively on their own initiative.

Role Summary

As a CNC Turning Team Leader, you are required to:

  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Health & Safety policy. Report and log all Health & Safety incidents that occur
  • Improve the efficiency of machine operation through lean techniques
  • Undertake daily checks and maintain the machines / equipment as per work instructions provided – reporting any machine failure or corrective maintenance requirements
  • Check the work meets quality and technical standards
  • Work towards our CNC production schedule
  • Work to high levels of precision
  • Cooperation and support of your team to deliver quality onetime to our partners
  • Positively support teamwork and circulation of experience within the workforce
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Essential Criteria

  • Experience as a CNC Turner with responsibility for CNC setting and operation
  • Team Leader expereince
  • Fanuc controller experience
  • Experience of reading drawings and specifications
  • Great attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively on your own initiative
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent attendance record
  • The capability to use basic hand inspection tools and machinery

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with aluminium, steels, copper, brass etc as a CNC Turner
  • Off line programming experience would be an advantage. Ideally use of Hexagon Esprit CAM software.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of quality systems and processes ISO 9001 and AS9100 would be an advantage

Remuneration

  • 4 day working week, Monday – Thursday
  • Excellent rates of pay

Pay: £16.50-£19.50 per hour
